PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Civil Engineer & Marine Advisor 01/2014 - Present

Provide civil engineering technical advice and guidance to project teams. Oversee all aspects of marine activities at terminals with dock operations to ensure compliance to USCG, International, and BP marine standards and policies. Additional duty as Lifting and Rigging technical authority. I reviewed a $20M project at our Seattle terminal to install a 1500' sheet pile seawall and determined that 750' of the wall was not necessary which effectively reduced the project cost to $10M without increasing health, safety or environmental risk. I also provided innovative guidance to a project team to eliminate 1000' of deflector wall in favor of a tank baffle system to avoid an unacceptable risk to the neighboring properties.

Area Maintenance Engineer, BP, Naperville, IL 06/2012 - 12/2013

Complete assigned terminal maintenance projects to improve safety, meet compliance requirements, improve performance and/or minimize risk associated with the operation of the facilities. I conducted a comprehensive review of our Knoxville terminal to evaluate the risk associated with sinkholes and karst topography and made recommendations to reduce the near term risk and mitigate the long term risk posed by the site geology. I also conducted an evaluation of a pipeline in Kentucky and Tennessee that was routed through a very active karst area and made recommendations to better manage the risks that sinkholes posed to our active pipeline.
