• Provide technical leadership and support for the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the plant’s automation, process control, calibration, instrumentation, and computer infrastructure.
• Designed and installed an Automated Viscosity Modifier System to automatically dose viscosity in reducing variation and improving process performance.
• Performed calibration on FMS Load Cells to ensure correct tension on winder profile to reduce the number of sheet breaks.
• Improved tuning on PID controls of Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers (RTO) to allow for efficient mixture of air and natural gas.
• Project manage the installation of a new basis weight and LOI scanner (Mahlo) to accurately detect the loss of ignition and basis weight of fiberglass mat.

Reliability Engineer (Mat Line 1) Apr 2012 – Nov 2014
• Effectively lead a team of four multi-craft technicians in reliability efforts to maintain all equipment used in the production of fiberglass mat.
• Effectively lead a team of four project technicians to drive continuous improvements projects around safety, quality, productivity and ergonomics.
• Designed and installed wet trim system on tending side of Mat Line 2 to allow for new product capabilities and scrap reduction of 20% with an annual direct cost savings of $228,492. Installed identical system on Mat Line 1 one month after.
• Designed and installed mat splicing system on Trima rewinder to reduce scrap by 30% showing an annual direct cost savings of $600,000
• Designed and fabricated a wireless safety interlock taper to address a critical near miss around Mat Line 1 winder.
• Improved tuning of recipes for Cognex defect detection and specified defect parameters on Mat Line 2
• Project managed the installation of a new Cognex Transmission Light Beam to improve defect detection and quality control on Coating Line.
• Installed and programmed Keyence IL-2000 Laser to capture accurate roll diameter which addressed a critical safety concern on Mat Line 1.
• Assisted in the design, fabrication and installation of a core cutting cell to recover scrapped cores as well as supply all Mat lines with a FIFO Kanban.
• Assisted in the install of a Viscosity Modifying system to automatically adjust the viscosity of the fiber thick stock mixture to improve the quality of mat.
