Office: U.S. Air Force, 96th Test Group, Aerospace Vehicle Survivability Facility, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio

Description:
Lead research, development, test & evaluation (RDT&E) programs valued from $50K-$750K over multiple years focused on improving or identifying new technologies for increasing aircraft survivability. Support OSD-mandated Live Fire Test & Evaluation Programs for characterizing and reducing aircraft system (fixed and rotary wing) vulnerabilities to combat ballistic munitions and threats to flight safety.
- Develop and advocate research proposals and test plans with DoD stakeholders, implementing statistical principles for enhanced test value and risk reduction.
- Coordinate functionally integrated teams across the tri-Services and industry to execute small-scale experiments and full-scale tests, ensuring adherence to safety, environmental, and security requirements.
- Manage technical, financial, and logistic details of projects within resource constraints, persuasively communicating programmatic issues at all levels of oversight reviews.
- Use Design-of-Experiments (DOE) software tools for developing test matrices, analyzing data, and creating empirical models.
- Post-process test data with MATLAB and/or Excel. Document, present, and publish technical reports.

Work integrates multiple scientific disciplines to include: survivability analysis, experimental design, statistics, computational finite-element modeling and simulation, aircraft design, physical mechanics, structural dynamics, system dynamics and controls, thermodynamics, and systems engineering.
