Job Description:
As an Industrial Engineer for Nissan’s 3PL, WWL, I am responsible for optimizing the logistics of importing, customizing, and distributing over 100,000 vehicles per year, worth $3.5 billion. During my time as the sole IE overseeing WWL’s sites at the Port of LA and Port Hueneme, I have lead several major kaizen workshops and driven continuous improvement activities resulting in over $1.5 million in cost savings. Last year, I was honored to receive the global Castor Green Award for environmental stewardship after submitting a cost benefit analysis to WWL’s corporate headquarters to justify an LED lighting retrofit project at the Port of LA.

-Support global deployment of ISO-compliant “Way of Working” by leading Process Excellence training on PDCA cycle and Lean manufacturing for all employees at West Coast sites. Perform regular audits on California sites to ensure compliance.
-Drive continuous improvement activities to meet company cost savings target. Recent major initiative was to re-arrange Accessory Shop into U-Line, balance cell staffing, enable pull production, and implement in-process quality checks, resulting in 60% reduction in defects, 30% increase in labor efficiency, $500,000 cost savings.
-Complete time studies to develop standard rates for all new programs and validate existing rates for all billing activities. Communicate with Nissan to ensure mutual benefit and understanding. Manage Document Control of all supporting time studies in SharePoint.
-Champion WWL value of environmental stewardship. Oversaw completion of LED retrofit resulting in 92% energy reduction and $30,000 savings per year. Developed shade tree planting schematic for office for natural climate control. Organized employee tree adoption.

Job Description:
As the Interiors Lead for Industrial Engineering on the Charleston 787 Program, I was responsible for supporting Manufacturing operations by providing production schedules for aircraft Interior installations for a multitude of customer configurations. As the Lean focal for my team, I also frequently lead and participated in kaizen workshops to support factory-wide continuous improvement.
