Foam Food Tray Manufacturer – Electromechanical Engineer & Site Lean Coordinator
~ Primary responsibilities involve equipment modifications, installations, and improvements.
~ Given the lead for all Lean Manufacturing initiatives at the beginning of May. Have increased employee participation in Kaizen and other lean activities by 56%.
~ Have increased the Indianapolis Lean Sustainability index by 84% in the short time I have been leading all Lean activities.
~ Generated over $100k of cost savings through Lean Manufacturing improvements that have reduced safety hazards, decreased quality issues, and increased over all production.

Semi Trailer Manufacturer – Lead Manufacturing Engineer
~ Promoted to Lead Manufacturing Engineer in March of 2012.
~ Supervised a team of 5 including salaried engineers and hourly fabricators.
~ Responsible for all supervisory functions such as performance reviews, hourly time reporting, personnel coaching, training development, and the hiring of new engineers as well as my own daily engineering responsibilities.
~ Managed the design, fabrication, and installation of new floor drilling equipment costing $300k. The implementation reduced our drill bit usage on these processes by 50% resulting in an annual cost savings of $300k plus a reduction in maintenance downtime of 65%.
~ Managed the design, fabrication, and installation of new sidewall drilling and rivet setting equipment totaling $650k. The new equipment decreased all quality concerns by 95% that were previously connected to these processes and generated annual cost savings over $500k.
~ Total cost reductions at Wabash over my career totaled in excess of $7.5M.
~ Utilized Lean Manufacturing tools and principles throughout all process / equipment improvements to acquire the largest amount of improvement gains possible. Also implemented 5S improvements through Kaizen events.

Sr. Manufacturing Engineer
~ Lead Engineer over the assembly portion of the Lafayette Facility Transformation Project (LFT) which had a budget of $3.3M. The project involved dismantling three of our assembly lines and revamping one of the remaining lines to allow for production of all model variations. With Lean Manufacturing as the goal the improvements included new equipment installation/improvements, complete revamping of line side work stations, installation of a complete trailer side fabrication line, utility management, and the removal of antiquated equipment.
~ Completion of the LFT project yielding production results that surpassed the projected targets by 13%. Wabash was capable of realizing those results within the first two months of production start up.
~ Manage large numbers of internal resources and external contractors for project work and have also been “hands on” in completing necessary tasks that have involved mig welding, machining, grinding, and other forms of hands on fabrication.
~ Developed multiple work cells for subassembly components that involved complete cell layout, material flow, hoist system design & installation management. While implementing the processes the 7 forms of waste were used as a guideline to improve efficiency, reduce material handling, and improve process flow.
~ Completed multiple PPAP’s / PFMEA’s through complete equipment design and installation processes.
~ Completed multiple CAR projects over warranty claim issues that were in the top five at Wabash National. My completion and corrective actions resulted in an 82% decline in claims to those specific issues.

Tier 1 – 3 Automotive Parts Manufacturer – Process Engineer
~ Primarily responsible for the design, build, and implementation of new welding jigs / fixtures, assembly process equipment in order to improve / create production capacity, improve efficiency, safety, and reduce costs.
~ Designed and implemented a welding process that increased production by 7.5% and reduced scrap by 65%. Those two improvements created over $100k in annual savings.
