Model Drawbridge Project Competition
Objective was to design, model, construct, and report on a model of a high-lift drawbridge. Projects constraints such as a limited catalog of raw materials and challenging structural specifications required teams to accurately design mechanical structures and model structural loads.
• Applied problem-solving to identify design concept, including bridge lifting mechanism
• Established material requirements and sourcing model equivalents.
• Design and draft layout of internal steel wire reinforcements for Hydrostone body and abutments
• Performed Solidworks Simulation modeling and analysis to predict failure mode from lateral bridge loading and lateral force capacity from boat crash
