SUMMARY
I am an engineer with over thirteen (13) years of experience in various Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering disciplines. These experiences have included ASME Code Section III specification and design analyses, nuclear power plant license renewal, nuclear core design, nuclear safety analysis, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) review, and manufacturing oversight. These opportunities have required the use of both practical and theoretical knowledge of heat and mass transfer, fluids, fluid systems, thermodynamics, applied mathematics, accident analysis, regulatory practice, design bases, and configuration management.

EXPERIENCE
2007 - Present Mechanical Engineer, WorleyParsons, Reading, Pennsylvania
Performed engineering tasks to support:
License Renewal: Developed license renewal applications to extend plants’ operating licenses for an additional 20 years for the STARS fleet which includes Wolf Creek, Palo Verde, Diablo Canyon, South Texas Project, Callaway, San Onofre, and Comanche Peak. Responsibilities included the development and implementation of programs to manage the aging of safety-related system for aging mechanism such as fatigue and embrittlement. Participated as the lead engineer for the review and validation of time limited aging analyses which included review of ASME design specifications and analyses.

Supported Plant Operations/Modifications: Developed calculations/evaluation to demonstrate compliance with the Generic Letter 89-10, “Safety-Related Motor-Operated Valve Testing and Surveillance,” and NFPA-805, “Performance-Based Standard for Fire Protection for Light Water Reactors,” to ensure the functionality of the valves during all anticipate operating conditions. Developed modification packages to support the installation/abandonment of the water chillers and liquid radwaste handling equipment.

Lead Investigations: Lead engineer for the survey of the US nuclear fleet for EDF, the French utility, to investigate reactor vessel embrittlement issues; costs for nuclear power uprates; and review of recent plant modifications at reference plants (plants similar in design as the French fleet).

Cost Estimating & Preliminary Design: Developed scope and cost estimates to support proposals and preliminary designs. For example, developed the scope and methodology for the review of structural time limited aging analyses, and developed the conceptual designs and cost estimates for an emergency heating system to replace the existing fuel fired furnace to reduce the plant’s carbon footprint.

2002 - 2007 Nuclear Engineer, American Electric Power (AEP), D.C. Cook Nuclear Power Plant, Buchanan, Michigan
Lead engineer for core design activities: Responsibilities included the development of the modification package for core installation; review of the safety evaluations/analyses; and evaluating cost of the new core.

Misc. Responsibilities: Performed power generation forecasts to supports business plan development and uranium procurement. Developed computer codes to model boron depletion in the reactor coolant system and monitor the core performance. Lead assessor for INPO Significant Operating Event Reports (SOER) evaluation and self-assessments. Initiated new primary water chemistry scheme. Developed training on neutronic codes for reactor engineering and cross-discipline...
