CHRONOLOGY OF PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

2012 – 2013 PROJECTS DIRECTOR
Reported to Director Design and Construction Group and accountable for a staff of three executing and leading projects on major new construction, renovation, and maintenance projects:

 Oversaw the project manager, prime architect, and general contractor during complex fit-out portion of ~$23M McMaster Automotive Resource Centre (MARC) project effecting meticulous budget detail and accuracy, and detailed finishing and occupancy plans.
 Led contracted design and estimate phase for ~$2.5M Bachelor of Technology programme fit-out at “MARC” including producing comprehensive client needs assessment, and proposed solutions for: addressing unique security issues, a comprehensive budget estimate, and a construction schedule to meet the client’s no-fail delivery date.
 Secured project approval, provided focus, and furthered concept development, estimates, and implementation plan for ~$7M Engineering Centre for Experiential Learning (ExCEL) building.
 Re-evaluated and re-scoped a previously funded high voltage transformer and power distribution project resulting in a reallocation of ~$500k to more critical electrical upgrades.


CANADIAN OPERATIONAL SUPPORT COMMAND/CANADA COMMAND, Ottawa, ON
2009 – 2012 SENIOR SUPPORT STRATEGIST AND PLANNER – DOMESTIC OPERATIONS
Reported to the Deputy Chief of Staff Plans with accountability for support plans for operations in the Arctic and for international engagements leading a staff of six senior planning officers.

 Developed long-dormant contingency plans for support to multi-department sovereignty, security, and disaster relief operations leading to identification of realistic resource requirements and readiness levels.
 Led planning and execution of engineering and logistical support for Canadian domestic and international operations including new and expeditionary infrastructure and utility systems.
 Minimized expenditures and risk by evolving the concept and scope for logistical line-of-communications, and infrastructure requirements in the North.


BASE TECHNICAL SERVICE BRANCH, CANADIAN FORCES BASE BORDEN, Barrie, ON
2008 – 2009 BASE TECHNICAL SERVICES OFFICER
Reported to the Base Commander and led a staff of 650, with accountability for delivery of all technical services including infrastructure, logistics, telecommunications, waste management and recycling, environmental protection, structural fire services, and general safety support for Base Borden and the 20+ operational, training, and educational organizations with an operating budget of $75M.

 Employed Defence Construction Canada to finalized a landmark ~$700M Base/Campus recapitalization proposal under a Master Realty Asset Development Plan and prioritized projects for the national defence infrastructure plan.
 Protected Base communications capabilities and minimize risk of service degradation by instituting an alternate organizational restructure which achieved a better balance of military, civilian and contractor services.
 Promoted an outstanding standard of environmental stewardship and enhanced sustainability through Public Works and Government Services Canada partnerships with industry such as large scale e-waste recycling.


CANADIAN FORCES JOINT SUPPORT GROUP, Kingston, ON (key deployments below**)2005 – 2008 SENIOR STAFF OFFICER OPERATIONS, PLANS, CANCAP MANAGEMENT
Reported to the Commander and led a staff of 20, with accountability for planning, delivery and monitoring of engineering and logistical support formations to deployed CF operations.

 Developed tools to task tailor personnel and equipment formations to a mission.
 Collaborated on multinational statements of requirements for the rapid tender and execution of logistics and engineering contracts essential to NATO Afghanistan operations.
 Reduced the deployment burden on military personnel with a timely reintroduction of Canadian Contractor Augmentation Program logistics and engineering support through negotiation, collaborative planning, and just-in-time training in concert with Public Works and Government Services Canada.
