Professional Experience
Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Oak Ridge, TN April 2012 – pres.
Post-Doctoral Research Associate
Carrying out R&D to characterize the mechanical properties of BiTe and CoSi thermoelectrics, as well as investigate the effect of residual and tensile stress on thermal conductivity, elastic modulus and hardness.

Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI Jan. 2007 - March 2012
Graduate Research Assistant
Fabricated, evaluated and characterized the temperature dependent mechanical properties of PbTe-based brittle semiconductors for use as thermoelectrics. Collaborated with Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s High Temperature Materials Laboratory User Program using high temperature resonant ultrasound spectroscopy, high temperature dilatometer, high temperature x-ray diffraction and room temperature nano-indenter. Thesis “Powder processing and mechanical properties of Ag0.86Pb19SbTe20 (LAST) and Pb0.95Sn0.05Te – PbS 8% (PbTe-PbS) thermoelectric materials”

Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI Jan. 2007 - March 2012
Teaching Assistant MSE 381, Materials Characterization Methods II
Administered and supervised weekly laboratory sessions covering transport properties measurements and graded laboratory reports. SEM specimen preparation and administered the laboratory. Lectured 3 weeks of the lab and contributed to 20% of the final exam

Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI Jan. 2009 – May 2010
Teaching Assistant NSC 820, Scanning Electron Microscopy and Energy Dispersive X-ray Microanalysis
Administered one-on-one lab sessions supervising and guiding students on a 6400 JEOL and 7500F JEOL, using secondary electrons, back-scattered electrons and EDS

Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI Aug. 2006 – Dec. 2006
Teaching Assistant CSE 101, Computing Concepts & Competencies
Lectured four times a week throughout the semester on topics covering Microsoft Office, Excel, and Access, Supervised and graded exams for each session.

Nativity Preparatory School, Boston, MA Aug 2004 - Aug 2006
