Based out of San Pedro, my responsibility included creation of policies and procedures for all phases of the company. I managed all areas dealing with corporate filings, insurance, project management, client relations, sales and marketing, accounting, IT and scheduling. From conception, we have had 5 consecutive quarters of growth and have gained invaluable experience in Leadership and Management.

Construction Engineer II – Fluor Corp

The project at Plant Scherer included the construction of the Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) and
Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) Structural and Mechanical Contract for Units Common, 3, and
4. This “brown field” project included the installation of equipment, prefabricated buildings, ductwork, and 120,000 lf of piping.

During this project I held two roles as a piping engineer for the FGD, and the overall Turnover Coordinator. As a piping engineer, my responsibilities include solving field issues, generating RFI’s, creating hydro / pneumatic test packages and inspecting tests, requisitioning material, creating field work packages, and punching systems. As the Turnover Coordinator, my responsibilities included scoping P&ID’s, performing client walkdowns, redlines, organizing and releasing turnover documentation to the client, and the tracking and reporting of punch items. In addition, I provided Client Startup Support during the Commissioning phases.

The Chevron Richmond Refinery Renewal Project included a Pre-Turnaround and Turnaround phase to upgrade the current TKC Plant. The “brown field” project consists of reliability and operability improvements for the plant’s reactor loop, pressure let down, fractionator overhead system modifications, and a new Sour Water Degasser unit. The project included 2 vessels, an exchanger, and 4 pumps. Along with the equipment, over 6000 feet of piping, 70,000 feet of cable, 300 instruments, and associated piles and foundations to support the new construction in a “live plant.”

As the Lead Engineer for the TKC Turnaround, I developed contract work scopes, execution plans, constructability reviews, estimate reviews, material take-offs, schedule reviews, and used my leadership skills to manage and delegate to a group of construction engineers. I managed subcontractors and craft to solve construction site issues. I participated in SID and Safety walkdowns to identify safety issues in the field. I played an integral part in the system completions and Turnover. I created Hydrotest packages, performed hydrotests, and created punchlists. I was able to follow the construction from the beginning to the end, writing over 300 RFI’s, red-lining drawings, writing Site Instructions, and Change Orders.
