Chief Engineer
Senior staff member Chief Engineer responsible for the 24\7 operation of the 200K plus sq ft facility and it’s three product lines with very different and varying needs and facility related equipment directing all maintenance and engineering activities. Direct reporting responsibilities for 24 plus employees and fill-in for Plant Manager. Active member of the Safety Committee, Food Safety and Food Defense Teams, HCCP Team, highly involved as critical member for all internal and third party audits including Engineering Audits, Environmental Audits, F88’s, F99’s, FDA, AIB\GMP’s and BRC Compliance Audits.
• Reduction in unplanned Down Time by 40% in first year, additional 16% the second year. Trending well below goal in current year.
• Improved PM completion percentage by 12% first year 5% second and continually raising the bar.
• Restructure the 5S program and directed in a manner in which understanding and buy in of the program is taking effect.
• Manage all manufacturing overhead budgets and decreased overall spending by $275K in first year. Cost reduction of 10% realized in second year with continued focus going forward.

Served on senior staff as Facilities & Maintenance Manager and Engineering Services Manager (outlined
below). Structure changes were made to allow me to focus more on the maintenance aspects of the business. While changes in position and responsibilities were somewhat minimal and still heavily involved with the engineering side of the business, there were also increased responsibilities that came with the changes. Changes included responsibilities from only skilled trades to all maintenance responsibilities including all press operations and related production operations. Duties included full responsibility for 24\7 operation of the 300K plus sq ft facility and all production and facility related equipment. Total support for high speed operation of automotive filter assemblies with highly automated assembly, stamping, tapping, paint and packaging processes and increasing number of robotics. Direct reporting responsibilities for 54 plus employees with added responsibilities of additional in-directs. Managed TPM, LOTO & Confined Space programs for maintenance and operations with an annual average in excess of 5000 Work Orders and the support of equipment installations upgrades and refurbishments.

• Championed Overall Maintenance Reorganization and Implementation of CMMS program through the utilization of dispatch system and data collection providing reporting for metrics coupled with 5-Why and RCCA problem solving methods driving improvements and corrective actions resulting in an average of 60% reduction in unplanned downtime while providing OEE improvements of 12%.
• Inventory control and equipment tracking implemented through Tool Crib Bar Code System to support costing of materials and equipment providing cost to maintain.
• Directed bi-annual Shutdowns for major PM’s, rebuilds, layout changes and equipment installs.
