Engineer with Master’s degree and 20 years experience seeking an engineering or manufacturing position with a company located in northeast Arkansas (Paragould/Jonesboro area). Location is priority over salary.

EDUCATION:
BS, MS in Materials Engineering from Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama (1991, 1993).
 Materials Engineering is the study of metals, plastics, and ceramics, along with the processing, manufacturing, and testing methods for those materials.
 Coursework included non-destructive testing, welding metallurgy, and electrical material properties. Also included failure analysis and reliability engineering.
 Graduate studies focused on Mechanical Metallurgy (study of forming methods for materials). Minored in mathematics. Operated a scanning electron microscope [SEM].
 Master’s Thesis sponsored by NASA for space damage analysis. Worked with the Space Research Institute [SRI] Hypervelocity Impact Lab at Auburn University.

EXPERIENCE:
Arkansas State University, Jonesboro, Arkansas – 2011 to present
Standoff Hazardous Agent Detection & Evaluation System [SHADES] Project at the Arkansas Biosciences Institute [ABI]. This is a Department of Defense project for detecting explosives.
Position: Research & Development Engineer
• Developed, assembled, and tested UGV’s [Unmanned Ground Vehicles] and UAV’s [Unmanned Aerial Vehicles] for sampling chemicals.
• Worked with local suppliers to fabricate components.
• Used AutoCad and SolidWorks engineering drafting programs.

Tenneco (Monroe), Paragould, AR – 2002 to 2011
Manufacturer of Monroe shock absorbers for OE, aftermarket, and military vehicles.
Position: Staff Engineer (responsible for all engineering needs for manufacturing shock components: Design, Manufacturing, Product, Quality, and Maintenance Engineering)
• Engineer for powder metal manufacturing, also worked on projects with stamping, rod grinding, tube forming, and plastic parts quality analysis.
• Worked with secondary manufacturing processes such as drilling, grinding, steam treating, sizing, parts washing, part banding, vacuum systems, etc.
• Designed parts and tooling for powder metal manufacturing.
• Responsible for emergency response to major machine malfunctions.

• Achieved “Greenbelt” engineering status, after successfully completing the Tenneco Six Sigma investigation programs.
• Developed spreadsheets and documents for tracking machine performance.

• Developed preventive maintenance procedures, and responsible for on-hand spare parts. Ran department tool crib ($500k value) for 70+ machines.
