SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS AND SKILLS

CHAMPIONED INSTALLATION OF CORPORATE OPERATIONS SUPPORT CENTER: Recruited to oversee the engineering, procurement and construction of a new operations facility in Marietta, Georgia, where controls for eleven (11) global plants were monitored and optimized, saving Columbian Chemicals over $4.6M annually in production, maintenance, energy (gas, electricity, and chemicals), and travel costs.

RESTRUCTURED COLUMBIAN’S PURCHASING: Worked with Columbian Chemical’s Purchasing Department to establish a comprehensive contractual purchasing agreement with a number of Electrical, Instrumentation, and Process Control manufacturers and representatives. Through the implementation of this program, we were able to same the company approximately 15% (or $9M) in annual material costs.

IMERYS CARBONATES CORPORATION; ROSWELL, GEORGIA
SENIOR DIVISION CAPITAL DIRECTOR 2006 TO PRESENT
Full autonomy in developing sound project business cases for smaller projects under $500K by following IMERYS’ Capital Project Frond-End Loading process, while collaborating with each division plant to facilitate project development of all large projects greater than $5MM. Key job responsibilities include the following:
1. The Management of Front End Loading (FEL) phases of each assigned capital project including evaluation of options, economic assessment, ensuring application of the proper prices and its strategic fit.
2. Development of the business case and identification of alternatives, key risks, and sensitivities for assigned capital projects in cooperation with technical project teams. Make certain that all assigned projects are developed in compliance with IMERYS capital governance policies and procedures;
3. Typically manage and participate in project commissioning efforts, formal project close-outs, and lessons-learned;
4. Normally take part in the cross functional development of capital project ideas for the GCC and Kaolin industry;
5. Manage the implementation of the annual IMERYS capital project development.
6. Manage IMERYS Performance Minerals Division’s capital spending budget, consisting of an annual capital spend between $25MM and $50MM.
7. Full responsibility for capital budgeting and forecasting, reporting, and analysis, identifying and investigating variances, managing spend to meet aggressive financial targets, and identifying issues and making recommendations to senior management.
8. Partner and provide the technical and financial leadership interacting with the market level senior management team and program managers for all capital issues.
9. Address and resolve financial and operational issues associated with capital budgeted spend, accounting classification, project set-up, capital vendor contracts, CIP objectives and reporting, and other financial issues.
10. Single Point of Contact for all capital based finance activities to include capital project management, fixed asset management, procurement, and vendor contract compliance.

COLUMBIAN CHEMICALS COMPANY; MARIETTA, GEORGIA
GLOBAL DIRECTOR, PROCESS CONTROL ENGINEERING 2000 TO 2006
Managed the planning, development, and construction of all new Columbian Chemicals Company Process Control Systems, as well as smaller capital improvement projects, consisting of budgets anywhere between $200K to $3MM. Coordinated the planning and development of short and long term facility needs. Implemented CCC Best Practices for Process Control Theory, while Developing comprehensive capital budgets and plans, providing the appropriate financial data for each departmental undertaking. Provided monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts for each project undertaken by Process Control.
