Bechtel Corporation July 2008 – Present
Control Systems Design Engineer
Coordinates the design, schedule, and construction of three major reactor plant systems totaling $20million for the Watts Bar Unit 2 Completion Project. Holds a team leader position where he delegates work assignments.
• Passed Professional Engineers (PE) exam in Control Systems for the state of North Carolina.
• Has experience in the design of post accident monitoring systems, reactor vessel level systems, thermowells, RTDs, thermocouples, pressure transmitters, level transmitters, digital meters, and filled capillary systems.
• Has experience in the newer digital I&C systems for reactor plants.
• Handpicked to be ASME trained, a rarity for control systems engineers, and has released last minute ASME procurements. 10CFR50.59 qualified.

U.S. Navy Europe - Naples, Italy June 2006 – May 2008
Exercise Safety Officer
Coordinates the planning, execution, and risk mitigation for multinational naval exercises including surface, submerged, and aerial forces in the European/African theater.
• Planned the first submarine “passing exercise” with the Israeli Navy, creating a model to use in the future for these short duration mutually beneficial exercises, resulting in better ties between the Navies of the two countries.

USS Michigan - Bangor, Washington May 2003 - June 2006

Nuclear Submarine Officer
As a direct representative of the Commanding Officer, managed shipyard operations for a three year $800 million dollar refueling and overhaul project. Directed the 225-person crew during 24-hour shifts for the extent of the overhaul. Nuclear Engineering Officer qualification awarded by Naval Reactors, U.S. Department of Energy.
• Hand picked as one of two Lieutenants out 100-junior officers to lead a team of civilian mariners in the Pacific Ocean for the week long sea trials of another submarine. The civilian ship was charged with providing escort, safety, and communications support for the first at-sea submerged operations after three years in the shipyard. Received a commendation from the Commander of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
• Promoted to rank of Lieutenant and ranked #1 of 14 peers.
