Senior Associate
My responsibilities at SCA were primarily involved with commercial developments. I designed and supervised design of shopping center facilities, ranging from single pad buildings to large regional centers. I also designed two large outlet malls. Other work included low-rise office buildings. Structural systems were precast, tilt-up structures, masonry, and steel frame structures. Most of these projects were located in Texas. Others were located in several states, from Florida to Washington and Nevada to New York.
Major Projects:
Over a period of five years, I was the Engineer of Record for over 600 projects.

Manager of Structural Engineering
I supervised fourteen engineers and cad technicians in the design of commercial buildings. Projects were for clients in the retail, hotel and restaurant industries. Most of these facilities were repetitive in nature. I coordinated with our clients and other members of the design team to develop functional and economical building designs. Custom software packages were developed to perform required structural calculations under each of the four major national building codes. Although these buildings were developed as prototype designs, each project was custom designed for its specific location. These projects were built throughout the United States. I designed these buildings in thirty-seven states.

Structural Discipline Manager
I managed a large Structural Design Department on a wide variety of projects for nine years.
1992 to 1999 - Structural Discipline Manager
I was responsible for quality control of all Structural Design activities for the Tulsa Division of the Benham Group. This included the work of the Process/Industrial team, the Hydropower team and the Civil team. As Senior Engineer in the Process/Industrial team, I was directly responsible for design of chemical process plant facilities and industrial buildings.
1990 -1992 – Structural Department Manager
I coordinated all structural design activities for a department of approximately 25 engineers and technicians on a variety projects to complete projects on schedule. I reviewed all structural documents for quality control. I prepared formal performance reviews for all structural personnel. I assessed staffing requirements to accomplish assigned work to meet clients’ schedules. I interviewed applicants for new positions, and made recommendations to division management for hiring.
1988 - 1990 – Senior Structural Engineer
I performed as project engineer for a variety of concrete and steel structures including prison facilities, industrial buildings, a water treatment plant and bridges. I prepared structural calculations, wrote specifications and reviewed construction activities.

Chief Structural Engineer
Chief Structural Engineer for a major airport expansion, from design development through completion of construction.
I was the principal structural engineer for design of a major expansion of McCarran International Airport Terminal. The project included a cast-in-place and precast concrete four-level parking garage above steel framed baggage handling, commercial, and office facilities. I supervised engineers in Las Vegas, Tulsa and San Francisco in completing the design of this project. I coordinated reviews with Clark County Building Department for permitting. I acted as project manager during construction phase, handling all correspondence with the Owner and the Contractor, and coordinating all activities of the design team related to the construction process.
